Retreat 2010 Knitting Lace with Nupps

Knitting Lace with Nupps (the Domus Aurea Scarf)

Knit the Domus Aurea pattern, a beautiful, lacy scarf designed by Laura Patterson. This scarf includes nupps, Estonia's answer to the bobble. We will learn tricks for making nupps easier to knit.

Skills Needed
Knit, purl, cast on, bind off.

Skills Learned
Lace knitting, reading charts, nupps, yarnovers, decreases, knitted cast-on.

Materials
About 375 yds of laceweight yarn; size 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles (or size needed to get a gauge of 19 sts = 4" in lace pattern, blocked); slender/thin stitch markers; something to mark your place on a chart; Domus Aurea Pattern. The knitting will be easier if your needles have a sharper point and a little grab to them, like the Addi Lace needles.

Homework
None.
