This great baby blanket is an easy knit and a wonderful snuggle for a favorite baby.

Materials:

• 9 Skeins Crystal Palace Puffin Yarn
• US 13 32” Circular Needle
• Tapestry Needle

Gauge:
10 sts/4” in garter stitch

Definitions:

• yo: bring yarn over right needle from front to back
• SSK: slip 2 stitches knit-wise, then knit them together
• K2TOG: knit 2 sts together
• SK2P: slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit next 2 stitches together, pass slipped st over
• RS: right side
• WS: wrong side

Blanket: When changing yarn color, it works best to knit a few stitches into the next row before joining the next color. Changing color at the end of a row makes the edge inconsistent.

Cast on 3 sts.
Increasing
R1 (RS): K1, yo, K1, yo, K1
R2 (WS): K
R3: K2, yo, K1, yo, K2
R4: K
R5: K2, yo, K to 2 sts from end, yo, K2
Repeat rows 4 & 5 until the edge (not the working stitches) of the blanket is the desired length (approximately 32”) end after a RS row.
Work 3 rows without increasing.
Decrease
R1 (RS): K2, yo, SSK, K to 4 sts from end, K2TOG, yo, K2
R2 (WS): K3, SSK, K to 5 sts from end, K2TOG, K3
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until 9 sts remain (end after a RS row).
R3 (WS): K3, SK2P, K3
R4: (RS): K2, yo, SK2P, yo, K2
R5: K2, SK2P, K2
R6: K1, yo, SK2P, yo, K1
R7: K1, SK2P, K1
Bind off.
Weave in tails.
