Cascade Are Us

Since September is our first official Cascade Yarns month in the shop, I took the challenge to use a Cascade yarn I hadn't before: Venezia, the chunky version. It's a lovely blend of merino and silk. It is also the perfect gauge for the Sweetheart Vest in Fall 07 Interweave Knits magazine. I was off. The pattern was easy to follow and the little bit of color-work kept me interested. Stop by the shop and see the results!

We just received a shipment of another Cascade yarn, Cash Vero DK. It's a luscious blend of merino, microfiber, and cashmere. It will be great for baby stuff since its even machine washable in cold water (though they say hand wash for best results). There is a good range of colors for color workers too.

In other news, Einstein coats are growing around the shop. Several are in Misti Alpaca Chunky. This light weight, but warm 100% alpaca makes the Einstein perfect for the Bay Area. Of course I've started one for a friend.

Future knitters are also being produced at the shop. Ellen teaches groups of kids a couple of times a week. It's great to have the kids around and see their enthusiasm. (It almost matches Ellen's.)

The Bull's Eye Sweater (see one here Taos Bull's Eye Sweater) in Crystal Palace's popular Taos is calling to me. We have a class starting at the shop on October 17 to launch us, so all I have to do is choose from the 16 colors! I think I'll do the longer, second version of this design, because I do love my big sweaters.

Okay, enough chatty blogging. Back to other web work. Happy knitting all!
