K2TOG Pie Wedge Shawl

Designed by Linda Jarvis based on Lorna’s Lace Free and Easy Pie-Wedge Shawl

 

Size: Approximately 28” long/ 56” wide at neck edge

Gauge: 16st/4” in garter st after blocking, very open and loose

 

Materials:

Crystal Palace Kid Merino Print or Solid 7 25 gm balls

US 8 32” circular needle

1 Stitch marker

 

Abbreviations:

k - knit

rm - remove marker

pm - place marker

bo - bind off

yo - yarn over

 

Pattern:

Cast on 112 sts very loosely.

Rows 1&2: k4, yo, k to last 2 sts, turn, k2, pm, k to end.

Rows 3-8: k4, yo, k to marker, rm, turn, k2, pm, k to end.

Rows 9&10: bo 4, k to marker, rm,turn, k2, pm, k to end.

One section is completed.

 

Continue repeating rows 1-10, until 98 rows have been completed.

Because of the short rows, you will be knitting fewer stitches as you go along.

 

Rows 99&100: bo 4, k across all sts, rm, turn, k to end.

One wedge is completed. There are 10 sections (points) in each wedge.

 

Repeat rows 1-100 5 more times (6 wedges completed).

Bind off loosely.

 

Block by dampening and pinning out each point and across top edge. Allow to dry completely.
