Size: XSmall (Small, Med, Large)

Width Across Back (measured at bra line):  15 (16,18,20,24) inches

 

Materials:

Misti International Baby Alpaca Worsted (100% Baby Alpaca) 218 yd/100 gm hank),

2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) Hanks.

US #8 Needle (or size to obtain gauge).

Tapestry Needle.

Locking stitch markers .or waste yarn

 

Gauge: 16 sts/4” 44 rows/4” in Horizontal Rib pattern

 

Horizontal Rib Pattern:

Row 1 (RS): K

Row 2: P

Row 3: K

Repeat these 3 rows for pattern.

 

Sweater Pattern:

Back:

Cast on 60 (64,72,80, 96) sts loosely.

Work in Horizontal Rib until 6 (6.5,7,7.5,8) inches from cast-on edge.

Sleeve shaping:

Using e-wrap or cable cast-on and continuing to work in Horizontal Rib

Cast-on 9 (7,7,5,5) sts at beginning of next 4 (16,16,8,16) rows.

Cast-on 10 (12,8,6,6) sts at beginning of next 12 (6,6,20,12) rows.

Total Sts on needle after cast-on is complete: 216 (224,232,240,248) sts

Mark edge of sleeve at this point for measurement later.

Continue working in Horizontal Rib until length from marker is 9 (9,10,10,11) inches.

Continuing to work in Horizontal Rib,

bind-off 10 (12,8,6,6) sts at beginning of next 12 (6,6,20,12)  rows.

bind-off 9 (7,7,5,5) sts at beginning of next 4 (16,16,8,16)rows.

Total Sts on needle after bind-of complete: 60 (64,72,80, 96) sts

Mark edge of body at this point for measurement later.

Front:

Continue to work in Horizontal Rib Pattern until length from last marker is 6 (6.5,7,7.5,8) inches.

Verify measurement by folding sweater so that cast-on and bind-off edges of sleeve touch. Back length and front length should be the same.

Bind off loosely.

Finishing:

Fold sweater so that cast-on and bind-off sleeve edges match and sew seams on each side. There will NOT be a neck hole for this sweater.
