MAKING A DIFFERENCE BY MAKING A GIFT

In 2011, K2TOG is supporting Elizabeth House , a transitional housing facility for women and children in Oakland, through fund-raising and creating afghans as gifts for the House and it's members.

As part of that effort, we have been working with recording artist Savannah Jo Lack at Knit-Ins during Oakland's Art Murmur in February, March and April. (Check out the YouTube video of Ellen and Bastet kitty) While these events have been fun, we still need lots more squares to put together into afghans!

You can help by:
Creating as many 6" x 6" (15cm X 15 cm) squares as you like. Each square can be of any material you have on hand, and in any stitch you feel inclined to make. They can be knit or crochet. If you feel like making a long square, please make it a multiple of 6"(15cm) long.

Bring or mail the squares to K2TOG. We will put the afghans together as we have enough to make a 5' x 5' (1.5m x 1.5m) afghan. It will take 100 6' squares to make 1 afghan!
