Work in pattern until length from cast-on is 6 (6.5,7,7.5,8) inches.
Sleeve cast-on: Using a cable or e-wrap cast-on, cast on 24 (20,32,32,40) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Total sts after both cast-ons: 174 (174,214,234,282) sts.
Continue using 2x2 rib pattern (your rows should line up correctly!) until length from sleeve cast on is 12 (13,14,15,16) inches. Length from original cast-on edge is approximately 18 (19.5,21,22.5,24) inches.
Bind off in pattern 24 (20,32,32,40) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Total sts after bind-off rows: 126 (134,150,170,202) sts.
Continue working in 2x2 rib pattern (your rows should line up correctly!) until length from sleeve bind-off is 2 (2.5, 2,2.5,3) inches. Total length from original cast-on edge is 20 (22,23,25,27) inches.

The collar rib will NOT line up with rib in body of sweater! Total length from original cast-on edge will be 22 (23.5,26,27.5,29) inches. When you fold the sweater so that sleeve cast-on and bind-off edges match, the original cast-on edge and final bind-off edge will match.
Bind-off LOOSELY working in pattern.
To finish, fold sweater so sleeve cast-on and bind-off edge match and seam the bottom of the sleeve and the side of collar and body. There is NO neck hole in this pattern.
